I've bought my fair share of work out DVD's. I think I have around 8 or 10 different programs now. I've used most of them, mind you, but I kept feeling that something was missing. I have some yoga, pilates, kick boxing, ect. And then, while stocking the facial tissues at Wegmans, I noticed a small DVD sell that was selling a few cardio work outs and it hit me: I don't have any just cardio DVDs.
I don't know about you but for me, some days I really want to work up a sweat. Other days, I love doing a slower yoga or pilates routine. I struggle running outside because it seems I always get a nasty sore throat and a congested nose afterwards. So now, I have my cardio DVD to use for days I'm too sick to go outside running. I tried it out this morning and it was awesome! I was really tired afterwards but it hit that craving I had to really get my heart going. I have to lock my poor cat in the bedroom so he doesn't get in the way but its worth it and he always forgives me. :)
For all of you like me who struggle to find the time and commitment to haul yourselves all the way to the gym (at least a 2 hour production), home fitness is possible. It might take a few trial DVD's to find the right balance that you need, but it is possible!

A Large Project Started
I did an internship in China before I was introduced to the world of Facebook and well before I ever dreamed of managing my own blog. I have all these photos and separate journal entries and boggled thoughts that definitely need sorting.
Having a blog while in Iceland was amazing. I still kept a personal journal aside, but I was able to document all of our travels and daily activities right online in a neat, organized manner to share with family and friends.
And thus, I have decided to undertake a huge project. I plan on blogging about my China experience using all my journal entries and photos. That way, I can have a more organized place to relive one of the most amazing oppurtunties that I took advantage of in college.
I've chosen to use this blog since it was during my single days and it is not centered around Xan and I at all. In fact, I'll be telling a bit of my overseas romance. LOL! Oh, the good old days.
I guess that means I need to finish cleaning the house and find all of the journals and get started. Since this blog will still be used for other purposes, I have added the category feature on the side-bar. All of my China experience entries will be listed under "Yangtze Internship".

Getting back into Shape
I had to go back to physical therapy a few months ago for a couple of things but I'm finally done and am ready to get back into shape. Not that I've ever really been in shape. Just a short 3 months last Spring of regular exercise and running.
I went running yesterday and it was fantastic! I usually don't LOVE running; I just like the good feeling I have when I get home after a run. But yesterday, I wanted to keep going. I was running on some paths in an adjacent nature preserve next to our apartment which is very woodsy. It was drizzling so I got a bit wet but it was such beautiful weather. FANTASTIC! I had to turn back after a short 10 min to get to work on time, though. It wasn't straight running, mind you. I did a lot of walking in between. It will take a few weeks to build up to a straight couple mile run.
And so, I learn something new about myself. I love running.

A New Look... Again
I know, I know. I've changed this blog at least 5 times by now. I change my mind way too often. Hence the name of the blog: Keeping up with Bybee.
This version of the blog is going to be focused on me, my hobbies, and my goals. It will include my fitness, cooking recipes, homemaking, crafts, and anything else that I feel like putting on here. I guess it is kind of a combination of my past 5 versions of this blog. :)
